Analytics & Optimization
Track performance and learn how to boost conversions.
How do I view my popup’s performance?
What & Why
Superpopups includes built-in analytics so you can see how your campaigns are performing in terms of views, clicks, and conversions. This helps you make data-driven decisions.
Steps:
- Log in to Superpopups.
- click Dashboard to view data.
- You can also view it through Analytics option (coming soon)
- Select the campaign you want to review.
- Use the date range filter (top-right) to choose the time period.
- Review the key metrics:
- Impressions – How many times the popup was displayed.
- Visits – How many times visitors clicked the popup’s CTA.
- Conversions – How many form submissions or goal completions occurred.
- CTR (Click-Through Rate) – Clicks ÷ Views × 100.
- Conversion Rate – Conversions ÷ Views × 100.
- Impressions – How many times the popup was displayed.
- Hover over the chart to see daily trends.
Example: If CTR is high but conversions are low, your offer is attractive but your form may need improvements.
Pro Tip: Always compare performance over at least a week before making changes - daily spikes may be misleading.
How are views, clicks, and conversions tracked?
What & Why
Understanding how metrics are defined ensures you interpret analytics correctly.
- Impressions – Counted when the popup is fully loaded and visible to the visitor.
- Visits – Counted when the visitor clicks your main CTA button or a linked element.
- Conversion – Counted when the visitor completes your set goal (e.g., submits a form, clicks a link).
Tracking Details:
- Multiple views in the same session are counted once (unless you disable this in settings).
- Clicks only count if they are tracked via Superpopups’ event system.
- Conversions can be:
- Form submissions within the popup.
- Form submissions within the popup.
Example: If you use an embedded form from another service, you may need to set up a Custom Conversion for accurate tracking.
Pro Tip: Use the Test Mode to ensure all events are being tracked before launching.
What can I do to improve popup performance?
What & Why
Small changes can lead to big improvements in engagement and conversions.
Tips & Strategies:
- Test Headlines – Make them benefit-driven (“Get 15% Off Today”) instead of generic (“Subscribe Now”).
- Simplify Forms – Fewer fields = higher completion rate.
- Add Urgency – Use countdown timers or limited-time offers.
- Optimize Timing – Avoid immediate popups; use a short delay or exit intent.
- Match Design to Brand – A consistent look builds trust.
Example: Changing a CTA from “Submit” to “Get My Discount” can increase clicks by 20–30%.
Pro Tip: Change one variable at a time when testing — otherwise, you won’t know which change made the difference.
How do I find and fix underperforming campaigns?
What & Why
Analyzing your lowest-performing popups helps you identify what’s not working and improve them.
Steps:
- Go to Dashboard in Superpopups.
- Pick one underperforming campaign.
- Review:
- Trigger Timing – Too soon or too late?
- Targeting – Reaching the wrong audience?
- Design & Copy – Is the value clear?
- Offer – Is it compelling?
- Trigger Timing – Too soon or too late?
- Make one change, then run for at least 7 days before reviewing results.
Example: A popup with a 0.5% conversion rate improves to 2% after changing from a generic “Sign up” to “Get your free eBook now.”
Pro Tip: Don’t just delete low performers - use them as a learning tool for future campaigns.
